Supply and Demand of Coffee Market

Supply
The coffee plant will produce a quantity of coffee bean to fill up a 1 pound can of ground coffee in a growing season.
It requires three to five years after initial planting a coffee plant before it can yield sellable coffee beans.
The world's biggest exporters of coffee bean are Brazil, Columbia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Columbia and Brazil mainly yield Arabica coffee. Vietnam exports Coffea robusta, which is believed to be humbler quality than the Arabica.
Arabica is a type of coffee bean traded at ICE Futures US(ICE).
The globe usually produces about one hundred twenty million, sixty kilogram bags of coffee bean each year.

Demand
The U.S. is the biggest importer of coffee bean.
The world usually uses up about one hundred twenty million, sixty kilogram bags of coffee bean each year.
Procter & Gamble, Kraft, Nestlé, and Sara Lee are the "Big four" roaster businesses that purchase about fifty percent of all the annual yield of coffee bean.
